GARDENS OPEN 2019 - Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June 2019 2.00 p.m. - 6.00 p.m.
Preparations for this very popular and well attended weekend to support our village Church are in progress.
As always work has been going on in the background over the last few weeks collating lists of potential sponsors and advertisers and it is now the time to focus on the actual day and to ensure that there are sufficient volunteers to make it run smoothly and that we have enough cakes and scones to feed our hungry visitors.
Although a number of people have already confirmed their support, there are still opportunities for those of you who want to assist in the following:
• Signing up to opening your garden
• Help with provision of cakes and scones and serving the teas
• Helping with the organisation of the car parking or assisting at the gate
• Helping on the stalls
• Contributing to the stalls or tombola prizes; and importantly
• Assisting with setting up of the required signage, tables and tents prior to the event and then also taking down when everything has finished.
If you would like to offer to help either contact me direct or complete and send me the Gardens Open Offers of Help form (please see details below).

GARDENS OPEN PLANT STALL
Spring has sprung and our gardens are bursting into life. So once again we are asking you to please remember Gardens Open Plant Stall when dividing, thinning etc. your plants and shrubs and if you are growing plants from seed, perhaps you could do a few extra for The Plant Stall, or if you just find you have too many or unwanted plants and shrubs, we would love to sell them on the stall this June. It would be very useful if each plant could be marked with a plant label stick showing name, colour and possible height. If you need any plastic plant pots – we have most sizes – just give us a call.
This year we are going to have a section of the stall for good condition hand gardening tools such as trowels, rakes, shears etc. and also, once again ceramic and terracotta garden pots and unwanted garden ornaments. Please let us know if you have any of these items to donate (collection can be arranged) and hopefully we can find a good home for them via The Plant Stall.
The Plant Stall is a very popular part of Gardens Open with all the visitors– please, we really do need your help in stocking the stall with an abundance of wonderful plants, pots and tools. So get gardening and get rummaging in sheds and garages – you never know what you might find!
More details will be given in further issues of The Mosaic, but in the meantime, if you have any queries please call any of the numbers below:
